Panzer Assault Badge - Bronze - Juncker

An unmarked zinc PAB; Bronze Grade; as manufactured by the firm of Juncker.

Areas of zincpest, as is often the case with zinc Juncker PAB's. As a result, the badge has been treated with a protective layer of vaseline. Possible replacement pin. Otherwise, a sought-after badge with much of the original finish still present.

HJ Sleeve Triangle - Traditions - Entitlement Permit

HJ Sleeve Triangle, West/Kurhessen, with so-called Traditions stripe (indicative that owner was a member of the HJ prior to 30 January 1933). Accompanying the triangle is the owner's entitlement permit or Berechtigungsausweis, a rarely encountered doucment. Lastly, a photograph of the holder wearing said triangle.

Of note, the ausweis confirms that the holder joined the on 1 April 1932; the reverse of the ausweis describes him as an "Alten Kaempfern" of the HJ (Old Fighter of the HJ).

As to condition; the triangle is uniform-removed (as one would expect); the ausweis is rather tatty but rare nevertheless.

German Cross in Gold - SS-Hauptsturmfuehrer

German Cross in Gold (DKiG), as awarded to the SS-Hauptsturmfuehrer, Franz Schultes. The cross is maker-marked to the reverse of the pin, "20" (Zimmermann). The Cross was acquired directly from the family in Germany.

Accompanying the award is a page of the Heeresverordnungsblatt, detailing the award made to Schultes.

Field-repair to cross, as a result of which, the pin has been mounted horizontally, as opposed to vertically. Outer wreath secured in one place only (see photos). Small chips to enamel of swastika.

In closing, a rare opportunity to purchase a combat-worn DKiG, as awarded to an SS-Hauptsturmfuehrer. A period photograph (scanned) of Schultes will be provided to the purchaser.

Of note, the SS long service stickpin, as offered for sale in this listing (see below), is also from the estate of Schultes.

Cross has a period repair to the catch (very well done) and some areas of corrosion to the core. All-in-all, a good combat-worn example and true piece of history.

The cross is slightly convex (something that was ultimatley prohibited by the regime but favoured by soldiers in the field): however, no signs of separation at the edges or raised inner corners.

Unmarked example of a WWII Iron Cross, 2nd Class or EK2 as they are known by collectors, complete with its original packet.

Although unmarked the EK2 is attributable to the firm of Klein & Quenzer and features the seldom encountered 1st pattern core. In addition, superior quality beading. The accompanying packet is the rarely encountered early version; maker-marked accordingly. Short length of ribbon.

A few marks to the core of the cross (though I suspect these could be removed - look to be more like paper debris than surface degradation); otherwise, very good to excellent condition.

BDM Urkunde Grouping

Grouping to a handball champion. Grouping comprises the following items:

1) 2nd place Urkunde for the 100m race in the "Glaube & Schoenheit" section of the Light Athletic Championships, Obergau Duesseldorf, 1940. The Urkunde is signed in ink by the Obergaufuehrerin. Embossed HJ emblem to outer cover of Urkunde.

2) Certificate of recognition for performance in handball, as awarded by the Wuppertal Association of Physical Training in 1949.

3) Quantity of photographs relating to the 1949 handball championships; in addition, a newspaper cutting and a sports association newsletter.

Of note, the subject of the grouping was a German Ladies Handball Champion in 1949.

HJ Ausweis Grouping - Honour Badge Holder

Grouping to a holder of the HJ Honour Badge (HJ Ehrenzeichen) and member of the Streifendienst.

Grouping comprises the following items:

1) HJ Mitglieds-Ausweis: uniform photo; Streifendienstgefolgschaft stamps to photo page.

2) Ergaenzung zu Mitglieds-Ausweis: dues stamps for 1936 and 1937.

3) HJ Fuehrerausweis: uniform photo; promotion through to Kameradschaftsfuehrer.

4) Versicherungskarte: dues stamps for 1936 and 1937.

5) several items of official correspondence, one of which confirms that the subject is a holder of the HJ-Ehrenzeichen.

The Fuehrer-Ausweis has suffered a little over the years; otherwise, the documents are in good to better condition.

DJ Auswes - Jungbann "Schinderhannes"

Interesting and unusual DJ Ausweis for a member of Jungbann "Schinderhannes". The holder of the ausweis joined the party in 1932.

Of note, Schinderhannes was Germany's most famous outlaw. During the late 18th century he went on a crime spree in the region of the Rhine. He was known for targeting wealthy Jewish citizens whilst leaving the local peasant population alone.

Good uniform photo, showing interesting DJ buckle in-wear (seemingly thin Rune).

Poor condition (folded twice and hole punch marks) but very interesting all the same.

Wehrpass Grouping - KIA Russia (Heldentod) - HJ Honour Badge Holder

Poignant grouping to a Grenadier with 8. (M.G.) Kp. Grenadier Regiment 81. I say poignant since he was killed in action (south-east of Kharkov), aged 19, little over two weeks after arriving in Russia. Previously, he had served in France on the Atlantic Coast.

In addition to the Wehrpass, the grouping includes the Heldentod document (indicating a hero's death for the Reich, signed by his company chief); a number of photographs (including photos of his grave (the location of which is identified in his Wehrpass); also, letters of condolence to his parents; newspaper cuttings concerning his death and even a telegram from his parents to his brother informing him of the tragic news.

All items in good condition.

Oberpostsekretaer Grouping - 25 Years Faithful Service

Grouping to an Oberpostsekretaer (a relatively high rank within the German Postal Service).

The grouping includes the following items:

1) Postal Worker Identity Card - dual language (French; German). Good uniform photo, although the cap eagle has been partially obscured by a deliberate ink smudge; as has the face of Hitler on the dues stamp.

2) Post-War Arbeitsbuch.

3) Promotion Certificates; 2x pre-Third Reich; 1x Third Reich - awarding the rank of Oberpostsekretaer and signed on behalf of the President of Reichspostdirektion.

4) 25 Year Civil Long Service Urkunde and corresponding award. Please note the cross has been separated from the ribbon, although this would be very easy to repair.

5) Official notice (war-time) concerning financial matters.

Condition: generally, very good.

War Merit Cross and Russian Front Grouping - Leningrad

Grouping to an Unteroffizier with the 223 Infanterie Division, who saw combat on the Russian Front, specifically Leningrad.

Grouping includes the documents for the War Merit Cross and Russian Front Medal; in addition, the associated awards and their original packets of issue. Please note that the ribbon accompanying the War Merit Cross, has been modified for wear at the tunic buttonhole.

Of note, the award document for the War Merit Cross is signed in ink by the Commander of the 223 Infanterie Division; a winner of both the Knight's Cross and German Cross in Gold, Generalleutnant Christian Usinger.

Shooting award badge (small calibre rifles) for a competition held at Spittal an der Drau. The badge has a diameter of approx. 40mm.

A further example of the 3rd Class, Mother's Cross. However, most unusually, the swastika has been rotated. As you will see in one of the photographs, the central (swastika) disc, sits proud on one side: a result of the placement needle not being in the correct position.

Tinnie - Grenzlandkreis Obererzgebirge

Tinnie from the border region with what was then Czechoslovakia. Unusual in its design, since it features a fabric pendant suspended from a metal bar.

One thread has become detached, though this could be repaired; otherwise, very good condition.

Scarce tinnie from 1932, i.e. before the coming to power of the NSDAP, commemorating "Hitler Tag".

Hard to discern in the photograph but the badge is maker-marked on the upper obverse edge; "J. Bauer Sohne Zella-Mehlis".

Although well done, I believe the pin has been re-attached.
