Postcard - Iron Cross, 2nd Class - "Es Kann Nur ..."

Great-looking period postcard, the artwork from which was used on Gordon Williamson's classic reference book on the Iron Cross. Perfect complement to an EK display.

Berlin cancellation mark to the reverse; dated 1940 (Grossdeutscher Reichstag).

Very clean condition.

Imperial Postcard - Iron Cross Motif

Very nice, Imperial postcard, featuring the WWI Iron Cross, hanging beneath a sword and crown. A legend above, proclaims: "God protects our Fatherland".

Writing to the reverse but no cancellation mark. Very good to better condition.

Grouping to one individual concerning his entry in the 1938 DAF/HJ Trade Competition. Grouping includes entry paperwork; in addition, the Participation Urkunde. All contained in the official envelope.

Of particular note, the entrant was sponsored by IG Farben, a company which would ultimately be closed down at the war's end, due to its involvement in the Holocaust.

Envelope has some splits at the edges; otherwise, good condition.

Youth storybook; good artwork to cover showing a DJ boy (note the buckle).

Rarely encountered Kreis Ehrenbrief (Honour Letter) for the State Sports Association, featuring striking graphic design.

Rarely encountered formal award document for the Luftwaffe Aircraft Spotter's Badge. In addition, further paperwork to the same individual - not pictured (further info on request).

Excellent condition.

Grouping to Reg. Bauinsp. Paul Gruenwald, awarded the War Merit Cross, 2nd Class on 20 April 1945, as a member of the Organisation Todt Einsatzgruppe Hansa (based in Essen).

In addition, a letter detailing Gruenwald's transfer to the Organisation Todt on 25 October 1944; finally, a portrait photograph.

Condition: the transfer document has some small tears; otherwise, good.

Document grouping to a Kreissieger and subsequently Gausieger in the HJ National Trade Competition of 1938.

Grouping comprises both Kreissieger and Gausieger Urkunden (Gausieger Urkunde is complete with outer folder); Beteiligungsurkunde at Gau Level (Participation Urkunde); 2 No. period newspaper cuttings, both of which mention the subject of the grouping.

Condition: AH portrait pages have been removed; otherwise, very good.

HJ Document Grouping - 3 Brothers - Luftschutz Messenger

The bulk of the grouping, incl. the Luftschutz Melder armband (and accompanying Melder-Ausweis) are to Fritz Lehring; DRL book and Bescheinigung Nr. 63 are to his brothers, Erwin and Karl.

Ex. Baker Collection (the armband is illustrated in "Youth Led by Youth").

Good condition.

Document Grouping - Metzner - Freiwilliger Arbeitsdeinst Pass

Document grouping to a husband and wife; of note, the grouping includes the husband's Freiwilliger Arbeitsdienst Arbeitsdeinstpass (Work Service Pass) which features a good uniform photo.

All items in good to better condition.

Obergefreiter Grouping incl. Reichspost Book & Card

Small grouping to an Obergefreiter comprising: Reichspost Savings Book and Ausweiskarte (matching numbers); in addition, military driving permit, weapons training documents and quartermaster staff confirmation. In short, an interesting little lot.

Good condition.

Grouping to an Oberpostsekretaer (a relatively high rank within the German Postal Service).

The grouping includes the following items:

1) Postal Worker Identity Card - dual language (French; German). Good uniform photo, although the cap eagle has been partially obscured by a deliberate ink smudge; as has the face of Hitler on the dues stamp.

2) Post-War Arbeitsbuch.

3) Promotion Certificates; 2x pre-Third Reich; 1x Third Reich - awarding the rank of Oberpostsekretaer and signed on behalf of the President of Reichspostdirektion.

4) 25 Year Civil Long Service Urkunde and corresponding award. Please note the cross has been separated from the ribbon, although this would be very easy to repair.

5) Official notice (war-time) concerning financial matters.

Condition: generally, very good.

HJ Trade Competition - Gau Level Participant's Urkunde - 1938

Participation Urkunde at Gau Level, as given to a Kreissieger in the 1938 National Trade Competition. The reverse of the Urkunde has the person's name, company and location in pencil (Rosberg, AEG, Cologne).

Accompanying the Urkunde is a DAF certificate confirming that subject of the grouping has undertaken a training event.

Both items hole-punched. DAF certificate has been folded.

Allgemeine Dienstordnung fuer die SA der NSDAP: service manual (95mm x 125mm; 63 pages) for the SA Mann and the SA Fuehrer. Published, 1933 in Munich.

Of particular interest, Roehm is named as Stabschef on p. 3. Following the Night of the Long Knives, all reference to Roehm would be purged from NSDAP literature.

A few stains to the cover; otherwise, very good condition.

Very interesting cigarette case adorned with Third Reich era enamel badges.

Particularly interesting are those badges relating to aircraft (Junker, Heinkel, Taifun, Arado, etc.) and automobile manufacturers (Audi, Mercedes, etc.).

The badges are generally damaged; scarce and interesting item, nevertheless.

NSDAP member lapel pin in zinc; maker-marked to the reverse; M1/103 (Carl Poellath).

Some loss of the silver finish; otherwise, excellent.

NSKOV Lapel Pin - Shooting - Silver Grade

Silver grade of the NSKOV shooting proficiency lapel pin. Maker-marked to the reverse, although a little hard to see in the photos.

Zinc badge with typical finish loss.

Germanic (Third Reich) Advent Calendar - Scarce

Germanic Advent Calendar prepared by the schools office of the NSDAP, in association with the Cultural arm of the Propaganda Ministry, and published by Franz Eher of Munich; heavily illustrated and measuring 160mm x 230mm.

Some creases, marks and tears; generally, good to better condition. Scarce.

Photo album, comprising just over 100 No. photos, detailing one boy's time as a member of the HJ, learning to fly with the NSFK (1940/41), progressing to his time with the RAD and onwards, to life as a new recruit with the Luftwaffe.

The first page of the album shows two post-war newspaper cuttings concerning the subject of the album.

Photo album documenting a cruise to Norway aboard a KDF ship in 1937. The album contains approx. 130 No. images (a mix of postcards, professionally produced photo cards and privately taken photographs). In addition, a small Norwegian flag made of silk.

The album includes several photos of the KDF ships (including the Robert Ley); plus the floating youth hostel, Hein Godenwind.

Very good condition.

Songbook of the BDM; printed in 1939 and with the owner's name and year (1940) to the inner cover.

Some marks to the outer cover and light mottling to the page edges.

Ein Kampf um Deutschland - Anti-Communist Booklet - 1933

Scarce period booklet (150mm x 225mm), published in 1933, entitled "Ein Kampf um Deutschland" ("Battle for Germany"). The booklet documents the supposed horrors of the Communist Party and urges readers to vote for the NSDAP in the forthcoming election. Very interesting example of period propaganda and an true piece of history.

Some marks, stains and creases; generally, good.

Jungmaedel Period Photo Book - "So Sind Wir" - 1937

Excellent, period book, documenting the Jungmaedel by means of words and pictures. Published in 1937 and containing 248 No. pages, the book measurs approx. 150mm x 220mm.

Some mottling to the outer cover and a small knock to the spine.

Large (approx. 100cm x 60cm), fold-out, Marine-HJ poster; as given out by the Kriegsmarine in March 1943. The poster shows members of the Marine-HJ engaged in day-to-day activities.

The front of the poster bears the note; "Sogleich nach Eingang an gut sichtbarer Stelle aushaengen" which loosely translates as "hang in a secure position immediately after the entrance". I would imagine this refers to the entrance of the Marine-HJ meeting place; it's purpose, to inspire other youngsters to choose the Marine-HJ.

A couple of small tears at the fold points; otherwise, very good to better condition.

Scarce poster: very few would have survived the post-war years!

Flyer and subscription form (unused) for the NS Monatshefte. Front page shows Rosenberg. Flyer measures approx. 220mm x 155mm.

Condition: A few small tears; generally, good.

Period book (published in 1941), entitled; "SA-Wehrmannschaften - wehrbereites Volk", as written by Hans Snyckers and, if I am not mistaken, extolling the virtues and benefits to the German people of training for the SA Wehrabzeichen (SA Defence Badge).

Of note, the book is marked (several times) with the property mark of SA-Standarte 11 "Daniel Sauer".

A few scuff marks to the outer cover; generally, good to better condition.

Lot of period stamps; the majority featuring the portrait of AH.

Very good condition.

Pouch as worn by medics in the SA. Top of pouch is embossed with the symbol of the SA.

Most of the contents are missing; however, some bandages and the tourniquet remain.

Unusual item in good overall condition.

Russian Front Medal - Maker-Marked - Weidmann

Good example of a Russian Front Medal; maker-marked on the ring "19", corresponding to the firm of E. Ferd. Weidmann (Frankfurt am Main).

Good to better condition.

Priced accordingly.

Reference Book - Heukemes - General Assault Badge

the definitive guide to the General Assault Badge, as written by Frank Heukemes. The book is signed (and dedicated) by the author, and in used but excellent condition (some light marks to the cover).

As far as I am aware, the English language version (which this is), is long out-of-print.

Tinnie - Schaffendes Volk - 1937

Striking tinnie commemorating an exhibition of 1937.

Excellent condition.

Small tinnie from the early 1930's and pertaining to the Deutscher Luftsport-Verband (the forerunner of the NSFK and the means by which Germany trained pilots, since they were not allowed to have an air force).

Good condition.

Tinnie proclaiming: "Christmas in Every German House". Maker-marked to the reverse.

Very good condition.

KdF Tinnie - Rundfunkausstellung - Berlin 1937

Tinnie commemorating the radio exhibition, Berlin 1937.

Excellent condition.

Colourful tinnie for an unknown (by me at least) organisation. On account of the initials "FVS" in the unit patch, it may well be that the tinnie relates to the following organisation; "Freiherr von Stein-Stiftung". I can not say with certainty and as far as I am aware, the tinnie is not documented in any of the reference books.

The flag pole would appear to have been snapped; in addition, some loss of finish. Nevertheless, surely a rare tinnie.

Seefahrt ist Not (Sea Travel is Necessary), fund-raising tinnie. Maker-marked to the reverse.

Good to better condition.
