Arbeitsbuch to a housekeeper who worked in Berlin, both during and after the war. Two interesting wartime entries: Oberstarbeitsführer Karl Saager and Prof. Albert Fischer; both residents of Berlin.

If I am not mistaken Prof. Fischer was a pioneer in the field of tissue culture.

Wehrpass - Heer - Military Police for Railways

Scarcely encountered Wehrpass to a soldier who served as a member of the Zugwachabteilung.

The Zugwache were soldiers who operated as security personnel on-board trains. They were responsible for general security, as well as the checking of papers, searching for deserters, etc. They wore a special gorget.

Prior to his service as a member of a Zugwache, the subject of the Wehrpass saw action during the invasion of Poland and subsequently the Lowlands and France.

Award entries for the Hindenburg Cross and Iron Cross, 2nd Class.

Very good condition.

Panzer Grouping - Photos & Urkunden - EK2 Recipient

Very interesting grouping to a member of Panzer Aufklarungs Abteilung 6.

The grouping includes the following award documents: Iron Cross, 2nd Class; Panzer Assault Badge in Bronze; Wound Badges - Black and Silver. In addition the soldier's discharge notice and a number of Panzer photos (some great uniform shots).

SS Grouping - SS Infanterie Brigade !!!

Very interesting grouping to SS-Obersturmfuehrer Fritz Burchard of SS-Infanterie Regiment 10 (mot).

Earlier in his career, Burchard was an SS-Untersturmfuehrer with 2. SS-T.V. Standarte "Brandenburg". He subsequently served with SS Heimwehr Danzig and thereafter, SS-Infanterie Regiment 10 (mot).

Of note, SS-Infanterie Regiment 10 (mot) would have been involved in anti-partisan activities. Furthermore, as a part of SS-Infanterie Brigade it is more than likley that they were utilised to form firing squads, since they were seconded to Einsatzgruppen C.

The grouping comprises the award document for black, signed by Wilhelm Hartenstein, who commanded 1 SS-Inf-Brigade from December 1941 to November 1942 (he was killed in 1944). In addition to the black wound badge document, is a old copy of Burchard's Wehrpass (not quite complete but almost), plus copies (again old (from the 60's I believe)) of his SS file, etc. Burchard was a member of the Lebensborn and also a recipient of the SS Honour Ring and Honour Dagger.

Good to better condition.

HJ Member Lapel Pin - Transitional - Deschler

HJ lapel pin; maker-marked to the reverse, "M1/52" (Deschler, Muenchen). Transitional era markings to the reverse; circa 1934/35.

Some wear to the finish and enamel.

Artillery Regiment Grouping

Superb grouping to a Wachmeister with an Artillery Regiment. Grouping includes his Soldbuch; award documents for the Wound Badge in Black and EK2; further paperwork; plus period photos (including a photo showing him proudly wearing his EK2). Furthermore, insignia and his dog tag.

Soldbuch and paperwork shows age; otherwise, good to very good.

Wehrpass & War Merit Cross Grouping - KIA

Wehrpass and KVK2 to a soldier who saw extensive action on both the Western adn Eastern Fronts. Awarded the KVK2 in 1941, he was KIA in 1942.

Very good condition.

Auslands Organisation - Presentation Paperweight - Silver

Uniquely rare presentation paperweight in the form of a Reichsleiter armband recreated in 800 silver and set on black marble base The paperweight measures 130mm x 75mm.

Ex. Baker Collection; it is featured on p. 80 of Phil Baker's book "Youth Led by Youth", Vol. 2. In the description contained therein, Mr. Baker states that it was presented to the English leader of the Auslands Organisation by Ernst Wilhelm Hans Bohle, Leiter of the Auslands Organisation.

Condition: Very good.

Kyffhauesserbund Member Lapel Pin Lot

Lot of 2 No. lapel pins, as worn by members of the Kyffhauesserbund (Veterans Association). Third Reich (maker-marked) and earlier.

Some light crazing to the pre-Third Reich pin; otherwise, very good condition.

Good luck charm, in the form of a small silk pennant (140mm x 110mm), incorporating the design of the sacred heart. The pennant would have been carried into battle by soldiers (most probably officers), in the hope of protection by God.

Some small holes and staining; also, fading.

Olympische Spiele 1936 - Commemorative Pencil

Souvenir propelling pencil, produced to commemorate the 1936 Olympics and featuring the Olympic Rings motif and the legend; "Olympiade 1936". The pencil measures approx. 120mm in length.

The pencil still functions although it would appear the pocket clip has snapped off. A scarce item nevertheless.

RADwJ Badge - War Helper

Badge, as worn by those members of the RADwJ, who were undertaking voluntary service (Kriegshilfdienst) in support of the German war effort.

Gau Badge - Danzig - Rare!

Rarely encountered Danzig Gau Badge; plated zinc example with textbook rear hardware.

Contrary to the theory put forth by D. Niemann, zinc examples of the Gau Badge, such as the one offered for sale presently are not day badges. In fact, the author Chris Ailsby contends that they are German produced badges, as opposed to being produced within the Freie Stadt of Danzig (which was the case with the hallmarked silver badges).

Badge weighs 16.5g and measures approx. 36mm x 44mm.

Much of the original plated finish remains; some minor bubbling to the finish, as is typical with plated zinc badges.

Driving Award - Gold Grade - c/w Packet of Issue

Super example of the Wehrmacht Driver's Badge, Gold Grade; c/w original packet of issue (maker-marked R. Souval).

Condition: The badge exhibits some oxidation; however, the vast majority of the original gilt finish remains. Packet has what appears to be oil or grease stains.

NSBO Member Lapel Pin - Pre-RZM - Early 1930's

Lapel pin as worn by members of the National-Soc. Betriebszellen Organisation (National Socialist Factory Cell Organisation). Pre-RZM (hence the lack of any RZM maker-mark to the reverse) and as such, dating from the early 30's.

Scarce Victor's wreath, as presented to the winner in a Kreis level gymnastics championships; Crimmitschau, 1935.

Of note, these oakleaf wreaths were abolished in February of 1937 and replaced by the small metal oakleafs, often encountered with their award documents. As such, they can be said to have existed for only four years (1933-37).

Some of the paper oakleaves are missing (and possibly some of the acorns (hard to know how many were originally present); writing to the ribbons has faded in some places.

Shoulder board, as worn by officials of the Third Reich State Railway or Reichsbahn; specifically: "Beamte der Besoldungsgruppe 17a und 17" ("Officials of Pay Group 17a and 17").

Small, hand-carved wooden figurine of a cobbler (or such like), polishing a boot. The figurine is approx. 88mm high. WHW paper label to underside of base.

Hand-painted wooden egg cup featuring a swastika motif; "Salzburg" is inscribed on the opposite side. The egg cup is approx. 63mm high.

Interesting little grouping to a DJ Faehnlein, Standard-Bearer. Grouping comprises: standard-bearer arm badge; shoulder strap with button for Faehnlein 12, Jungbann 147. Furthermore, a rubber stamp corresponding to the office of the DJ Faehnlein. Ex. Baker Collection.

Insignia has been worn; cut to upper edge of standard-bearer badge.

HJ Shoulder Straps - RZM Tag - Mint Unissued

Unissued set of Allgemeine (red piping) HJ shoulder straps for Bann 539 (Voecklabruck, Austria). RZM label to the reverse of one strap.

Excellent condition.

Badge, as worn by qualified members of HJ fire-fighting units.

Worn example with thread remnants (uniform-removed); subsequently glued in an album, as evidenced by the paper remains to the reverse.

Lanyard, in green and black rayon, as worn by the ranks of HJ-Hauptscharführer or DJ-Hauptjungzugführer. The lanyard is approx. 33cm in length.

Fraying to both ends; one more so than the other.

NSDStB Sports Vest Eagle

Shirt-removed example of the National Socialist Deutscher Studentenbund (National Socialist German Students League), sports vest eagle. The eagle has a wingspan of approx. 150mm.

Shirt-removed; cut around edges.

Life Rune Lapel Pin - Mother-of-Pearl

Lapel pin in mother-of-pearl, featuring a separately life rune in metal. Although I do not know the exact purpose of the badge, given the presence of the life rune, I would suggest it is Frauenschaft related. Only the second such badge I have had pass through my hands.

Badge measures approx. 22mm x 24mm.

Very good condition.

Reichs-Jugend Sportabzeichen Lapel Pin

State Youth Sports Award in stickpin form (for boys). Maker-marked to the reverse, "Wernstein Jena".

Some loss of finish to the highpoints; otherwise, good to very good condition.

Lot of two pins denoting unity with Germany in the years following the Treaty of Versailles.

The stickpin bears the legend "Oberschlesier" and relates to the "Bund der Oberschlesier". The lapel pin which features the Silesian Eagle is for the "VVHO" - Vereinigte Verbände heimattreuer Oberschlesier (United Leagues of Patriotic Upper Silesians).

Both pins in very good condition.

Imperial Awards

Lot of 2 No. Imperial decorations including the Hindenburg Cross (which is in fact the only Imperial award instituted during the Third Reich) and a Kyffhauesserbund decoration (court-mounted).
