Kriminalpolizei Grouping - Rare!

Rare opportunity to purchase an extensive grouping (spread over 2 hardback folders) to a member of the Kriminalpolizei (KriPo).

The subject was born in 1909 and joined the Bavarian police in 1927, serving with the Landespolizei (barracks police). He subsequently sought admission to the Kriminalpolizei and following successful completion of the examination was admitted (HA Sicherheitspolizei). As a member of the KriPo, he worked as a detective in both Berlin and Nuernberg-Furth. He was subsequently transferred to the Grenzpolizei (Border Police) in Metz and was captured following the fall of the Reich in 1945.

During the course of his career, the subject of the grouping rose through the ranks, finishing as a Kriminal-Sekretär (equivalent SS rank, Sturmscharfuehrer).

Of note, the Kriminal-Sekretar promotion certificate is hand-signed by Anton Dunckern. Dunckern (a friend of Himmler) was Commander of the Security Police and SD in Occupied Lorraine. Upon his capture, Dunckern was personally interrogated by General Patton

Also of note are the papers from the offices of the Sicherheitsdienst (Security Police); in addition, his Kriminalpolizei examination pass confirmation from the Leadership School of the Security Police in Berlin.

Two of the promotion documents are signed by Dr. Martin, Polizei-Praesident.

Waffen-SS Cuffband - BeVo - Germania

Scarce Waffen-SS cuffband in BeVo, as worn by members of Standarte "Germania".

The cuffband is full length and has been removed from an album (scrapbook), as evidenced by the glue traces to the reverse. In spite of this, it remains a sought-after band, since it is one of the harder BeVo cuffbands to obtain.

SS Cuffband - San. Abt. XXXIX

Allgemeine-SS, Sanitaets Abteilung cuffband. The cuffband has an approx. length of 360mm.

Appears to have been tunic-removed. Backing strip to reverse of embroidery absent.

SS Shoulder Board - Totenkopf

Shoulder board (sew-in version), as cut from the shoulder seam of the tunic. Of note, is the "1" cypher (slip-on) in chain-stitched embroidery. This is thought to correspond to 1st Totenkopf Infantrie Regiment formed at Oberbayern.

Cut; otherwise, good to very good condition.

Infantry Assault Badge - Stickpin

Very nice example of the Infantry Assault Badge, Silver Grade, in stickpin miniature. The badge measures approx. 12mm x 16mm.

Very good to excellent condition with very little finish loss.

Artillery Marksmanship Lanyard - 2nd Pattern - Grade 3

Very good example of the 2nd pattern Artillery Marksmanship Lanyad. The lanyard is grade 3, as evidenced by the 2 metal shells suspended from the bullion lanyard.

Very good to better condition with only light wear.

HJ Armband - BeVo

HJ armband in BeVo weave.

Condition: a little grubby but generally, good.

HJ Armband - Wool

Rarely encountered HJ armband in wool; separately applied BeVo swastika. Ex. Baker Collection.

Several small moth holes; mostly to the obverse.

HJ Armband - Technische Vorschule der Luftwaffe

HJ armband with label to inside indicating former owner (Heinz Herbst) was a Militaerschueler. Militaerschueler were students (akin to apprentices) at Luftwaffe Technische Vorschule (Luftwaffe Technical Preparatory Schools).

This very armband is illustrated on p. 27 of Philip Baker's "Youth Led by Youth" - Volume 2.

Condition: Worn example with a few stains, marks and nicks.

Deutscher Volkssturm Armband

Well worn example of a Deutscher Volkssturm armband.

This very armband is illustrated on p. 109 of "Philip Baker's "Youth Led by Youth" - Volume 3.

Coastal Artillery shoulder strap for enlisted men.

Good condition.

Marineoberhelfer Cuffband

Cuffband as worn by members of the HJ, attached to the Kriegsmarine. Ex. Baker Collection and illustrated on p. 68 of "Youth Led by Youth", Volume 3.

The cuffband has been cut-down and is approx. 250mm in length. Some other marks to the obverse of the band. Priced accordingly.

DJ Shoulder Strap - Early

Early DJ shoulder strap for Jungbann 3, Bann 285 (Unterweser). The strap is circa 1935-37 (as evidenced by the presence of the Jungbann number) and features chain-stitched embroidery.

Uniform removed; good condition.

DJ shoulder strap for Jungbann 186 (Frankfurt - West). Of note, the strap has been modified and has press studs to the reverse. The strap features chain-stitched embroidery and as such, can be said to date from before the Autumn of 1938.

Worn condition.

DLV Sports Vest Insignia

Insignia, as worn by members of the DLV (Deutscher Luftsportverband - German Air Sports Association) on the sports vest. The badge measures approx. 115mm x 70mm.

A few marks; generally, good to very good.

Gliding Proficiency Badge - B Class

Gliding Proficiecy Badge; B Class; Bullion embroidery. Original merchant's ticket / price label to reverse.

Condition: Uniform-removed.

HJ Sleeve Badge - Doctor

Rarely encountered sleeve badge in bullion, as worn by HJ doctors. Ex. Baker Collection and illustrated on p. 39 of "Youth Led by Youth", Volume 2.

The bullion itself is largely absent due to oxidation, leaving the exposed thread in its place. A rare badge, nevertheless.

HJ Bandsmen's Swallows Nests - Spielmann

Rarely encountered set of HJ Bandsmen's swallow nests.

Good to very good condition.

Motor-HJ Proficiency Badge

Unissued example of the Motor-HJ Proficiency Badge (for skilled drivers). RZM label to the reverse.

Excellent.

HJ Shoulder Straps - Unissued

Unissued set of Allgemeine (red piping) HJ shoulder straps for Bann 539 (Voecklabruck, Austria). RZM label to the reverse of one strap.

Very good, unmarked example of a Deumer manufactured, EK2 (as evidenced by the core and frame characteristics).

Light oxidation to core and some loss of finish to the flanges of the frame. Overall, good to very good condition.

Unmarked EK2 (possibly manufactured by Jacob Bengel).

Some bubbling to the core and oxidation; toning and loss of finish to flange and beading.

Iron Cross, 2nd Class - Julius Maurer

EK2; marked on the ring, "138" (Julius Maurer). One of the less common makers.

Oxidation to the core and with it, some loss of finish; toning to flanges of cross arms.

Iron Cross, 2nd Class (2)

Very nice, unmarked EK2, with great toning to the frame.

Slight oxidation to the edges of the core and some "spidering" to the reverse. Nevertheless, a great-looker.

Iron Cross, 2nd Class - Moritz Hausch

Excellent example of a Moritz Hausch produced EK2. Hausch EK2's are scarce on the collector market and most sought-after, as a result of their exceptional quality.

Incidentally, Hausch produced EK2's are always unmarked. Maker identification has been made possible by the frequency with which such crosses have been encountered with Hausch marked packets.

Condition: A few tiny specks of oxidation; otherwise, very good to excellent condition.

Iron Cross, 2nd Class - Meybauer - Packet

Very good, unmarked example of a Meybauer manufactured, EK2 (as evidenced by the core and frame characteristics). Accompanying the cross is the blue packet of issue (unmarked).

Core in very good condition; toning to beading and flanges of cross arms. Tears to packet.

Iron Cross, 2nd Class - Souval

Excellent, unmarked example of a Souval manufactured, EK2 (as evidenced by the core and frame characteristics - please observe the round inner corners).

Tiny speck of oxidation to the core; toning to frame. Overall, excellent.

Some breaks to the tissue paper wrap (a result of the cross arms); otherwise, a mint set.

Iron Cross Document Grouping - Kriegsmarine

Interesting paper grouping to a Maschinen-hauptgefreiter and recipient of the Iron Cross, 2nd Class, operating out of Norway. Most probably as a member of a Unterseebootjagdflottille (submarine hunter), since he is wearing the Minesweeper badge in some of the accompanying photographs.

The EK2 award document is hand-signed (in ink) by Generaladmiral Boehm (Admiral in charge of Norway).

The documents have been folded; otherwise, very good condition.

Luftwaffe Wehrpass - Spanish Cross in Bronze

Luftwaffe Wehrpass to an Oberfeldwebel with a Recon. Squadron who saw action in Spain, Western Europe and Scandinavia.

Award entries for the War Merit Cross, 2nd Class with Swords, Spanish Civil War Campaign Medal, Spanish Cross with Swords, 1 October 1938 Commemorative Medal.

WWI Militaerpass & Wound Badge

Militaerpass (military service book) to a World War I solider. Accompanying it a Wound Badge, Black Grade.

Please note, I can find no reference to the Wound Badge in his Militaerpass, although there are numerous entries (hard to read for me at least). Both badge and book were acquired together though via my source in Germany. As such, I am selling them together.

Iron Cross, 2nd Class - Award Document - Operation Barbarossa

Formal award document for the Iron Cross, 2nd Class, as presented to a soldier with Infantry Regiment 487, 30 July 1941.

The document is signed in ink by the Commander of 267. Infantry Division, Generalleutnant Friedrich-Karl von Wachter. Based on the date of the Urkunde (30 July 1941), it was most probably given for the recipient's involvement in the opening stages of Operation Barbarossa (codename for the invasion of Russia).

A few creases; generally, very good.
