Early SS M33 Dagger - Robert Klaas (Ref. EDGE010) Early SS Dagger by one of the premier makers, the firm of Robert Klaas. The dagger is of early quality and features nickel-silver fittings throughout: though the lower scabbard fitting has a chrome finish (it has been documented that this does occur on period examples). The crossguard carries the Munich Distribution centre mark 'I'. Condition: Overall the dagger must grade excellent to better. The blade has previously been assessed mint, by an acclaimed expert in the field, and exhibits near full cross-graining, even to the tip (which has a needle-point). Scabbard in excellent shape, with no dents or dings but has been repainted. Ebony grip has two small hairline cracks and some scratches to surface but still in very good state. Grip insignia of high quality and in excellent condition (see photos). Further / specific pictures available upon request. The dagger is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from Thomas Wittmann. In closing, this is a fine example of the SS by one of the more sought after makers, and with an outstanding blade. An impressive addition to any collection. SOLD |
